Fernandez Foundation is committed to having midwives as primary caregivers for pregnant women. We are driven to reduce unnecessary medical interventions and offer professional midwifery care to all low-risk mothers. Our goal is to work in perfect harmony with other clinicians under the collaborative care model so that all women can have access to midwifery care. The foundation is highly committed to improving maternal and child health. The Fernandez Midwifery Initiative (formerly known as ProMiSe) focuses on selecting suitable candidates to be educated and trained as competent and proficient midwives. They will then become the frontline of maternal health provision, interacting with colleagues across primary, secondary, and tertiary care sectors.
A midwife is a person who has completed a Midwifery Education Programme that is based on the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) Essential Competencies for Midwifery Practice and the framework of the ICM Global Standards for Midwifery Education. They provide care for women during pregnancy, labour, postpartum period as well as the care of the newborn baby.
Positive results of the midwifery model of care.
This journey with Fernandez has been phenomenal. My birthing experience has been ethereal! It’s a lifetime experience! They empower us to be much more than a woman can be.
The support provided by the midwives here is absolutely amazing! Midwifery has been one of the best decisions I made in my pregnancy so far.
It was not possible at all for me to even think of a normal delivery at the age of 39. My midwife helped me make it possible. I had a wonderful birth, all thanks to her.
Every pregnant woman should really have a midwife beside her! They are there with you 24/7. I recommend Midwifery care to every pregnant woman!
I think the best part about Fernandez is the concept of midwifery. The way they communicate with you and the way they make you feel is so motivating!
They held my hand, they made sure I received warm hugs, and they introduced me to Aromatherapy. They allowed me to dim my lights, which I’ve never heard of in any other place.
Join our team. We’d love to have more passionate, driven, and dedicated people on board.
